Why the waffle texture matters
Flat plush gives the mouth nothing to hold. The waffle weave does: the raised squares give the teeth a grip, so the dog carries the toy instead of working at a seam to find purchase. It is a small difference in the fabric and a large one in what the dog does with it.

If the real problem is energy
Destructive chewing is usually a symptom, not a preference. A dog who has run properly chews far less, and the fastest way to get a dog to run properly without wearing out your shoulder is the automatic ball launcher. Work first, carry afterwards — in that order it holds; the other way round it does not.

Is this an indestructible toy?
No, and we will not call it that. No soft toy survives a determined shredder, and a company that promises otherwise is selling you a word. What this duck is good at is being carried, mouthed and squeaked — a much gentler set of behaviors than tugging or ripping. If your dog systematically opens up soft toys, this is the wrong category for him, and a rubber chew is the right one.
What is it made of?
